Used in combination with other anti-viral agents for treatment of HIV infection. These agents are specific in interfering with active CD4+ cells. Oral (Capsules) or Injection (Syrup) Headache, gastrointestinal pain, nausea, rash

Retrovir should be used with caution in patients with bone marrow suppression and liver disease. It is extremely important that patients have their blood counts followed closely while on therapy, especially those patients with advanced symptomatic HIV disease. Store at room temperature and protect from moisture.
