Used in combination with other anti-viral agents for treatment of HIV infection. These agents are specific for the prevention of HIV replication, assembly, and release. Oral Diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, nausea
Saquinavir should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus and hemophilia types A and B. Patients should notify physicians if they are taking any other prescription and over-the-counter medications due to severe drug-drug interactions. Concomitant use of Saquinavir with St. John’s Wort, lovastatin, or simvastatin is not recommended.
