In infertility, Synarel® is used to suppress the body’s own natural hormones in order to be prepared to receive the gonadotropins by injection. Also used in the treatment of endometriosis.
Synarel® comes in the form of a nasal spray, usually given once or twice a day typically in alternating nostrils. Hot flashes, decreased libido, headache, and insomnia. Avoid sneezing during or immediately after dosing, this may prevent the drug from being absorbed into the bloodstream. Store at room temperature.
