Lupron® is a GNRH agonist indicated for the inhibition of premature LH surges in women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. Used as an alternative therapy in Assisted Reproductive Technology to allow clinicians to control the ovulation process. Also used in the treatment of endometriosis
Lupron® microdose is compounded by the pharmacy at your physician’s instructions. Microdose Lupron® may be as small as 20-40 micrograms twice a day, in comparison to the typical dose of 0.5-1 milligrams per day. Administration will require the use of supplies contained in the Induction / ART Kit.
Side effects include hot flashes, bone pain occurring during the first few weeks of treatment, difficulty urinating, and irritation at the injection site. Some individuals may also experience new onset or aggravation of nerve symptoms. Response to the medication will be monitored by blood work. Patients with metastatic vertebral lesions and/or urinary tract obstruction should be closely observed during the first few weeks of therapy. Lupron® microdose should be stores in the refrigerator. The vial is stable for 28 days.
